After a sunny Sunday on the beach of Coma-Ruga in Catalonia, Spain, I have to sit down to what will probably be the easiest prediction of the week: Spain – Swiss in the FIFA World Cup. Why easy? Maybe because all the players on the Flamenco dancing side earn their living with Europe’s top clubs – a team built from FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, FC Liverpool… Maybe because the Tapas woofers are European Champions! Or maybe just because looking at the numbers gives me no choice but to put the money on Spain!
In its last 6 matches the Spanish national football team scored 19 goals, conceived just 4 and went to a clear set break winning all! As the dear friendly Xocalat watch keepers scored an embarrassing 5 (3 against the nonexistent Luxembourg!?), conceived a humble 6 to go for the total rooster of 2 ties, 3 plunks and a solo win.
I have been a few years ago in Switzerland, beautiful place, walking from Interlaken to Grindelwald was nothing but a top quality hike, but as to football? No doubt – Spain all over!
