COUTINHO WELCOMES NEW TEAMMATES

Barcelona attacking star Philippe Coutinho has praised the addition of three players to the squad. Speaking from the United States tour ahead of an interesting season ahead, Coutinho said he was impressed at the way the club completed its business in the summer transfer window.

“The expectations are always high when you start a new season. Three new players have arrived – two of them Brazilians. It’s clear they are all going to help us. The expectations are huge. We always want to win titles and I hope this happens while wearing these boots,” he said.

Coutinho spoke lovingly at the idea of lifting the Champions League. He said he hopes to win the title some day and that the team would be prepared to win everything with the help of the new signings.

With Real Madrid rebuilding their team, Barcelona only need to tighten their end, and it would see them return to dominating Spain and the whole continent. Barca added Arthur, Clement Lenglet and Malcom, boosting their ranks with players expected to hit the ground running.

The club is still expected to release one or two more players. Columbian defender Yerry Mina is the most touted to exit the team to make space for the additions.

There are wide reports that Manchester United is hoping to land the goalscoring defender. However, Everton are also keen on sealing a move for the player. Others such as Lyon and Leicester City have also been named as interested parties.

For now Manchester United are yet to officially reach out to Barcelona though, as per reports. There are claims of the Red Devils management wanting Coach Jose Mourinho to be frugal in spending.

There are also reports that Pep Guardiola knew of the deal but passed on Mina as he felt he was yet to reach the level required to play at the highest level. He is surprised that their city rivals are making a move for him. Barcelona would gladly sell all rights to the player if United make the right offer, as per reports.
