FC Barcelona superstar Ousmane Dembele reportedly has a €50m (£42m) release clause in his new contract with the club following a summer of Liverpool being linked with the French international. According to L’Equipe, the 25-year-old winger’s new deal with Barcelona includes a release clause that will become active next year in the summer transfer window worth £42m, with Liverpool reportedly interested in signing Dembele at the end of last season when his previous contract with the Catalan giants expired.

Dembele’s form has never been better with Barcelona after years of inconsistency and injuries, with the winger this season bagging two goals and four assists in all competitions as Xavi Hernandez has awarded the attacker a starring role this campaign despite the signing of Raphinha. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner signed for Barcelona five years ago for a reported £135m as a replacement for Neymar, and this year has seen Dembele finally come into his own under Xavi, who has managed to get the best out of the former Borussia Dortmund wonderkid at the Camp Nou. Chelsea are light in attack at the moment after Romelu Lukakul eft the club to re-sign for Inter Milan in the Italian Serie A. The Blues paid a club-record fee of a little more than £97m to sign Lukaku for the second time. Things didn’t work out for the Belgian striker at Stamford Bridge and he had to return to Italian football after one season of his second spell with Chelsea. Lukaku has signed for Inter Milan on loan for one year without any option or obligation to turn it into a permanent transfer.
And according to Diario Sport, Clement Lenglet is another player expected to leave Barça in the summer, after failing to make a name for himself under Xavi. Since the Spaniard’s appointment, Lenglet, formerly a first-team regular alongside Gerard Pique, has fallen behind the likes of Eric Garcia and Ronald Araujo in the pecking order.
