CAN BARCELONA WIN THE LA LIGA THIS SEASON?

At the beginning of the season, after the first round of fixtures in the Spanish La Liga, this question would have appeared more needless to ask than now. But now, of course, the question would surely be treated with more seriousness and concentration. Following the appointment of former Netherlands national team manager Ronald Koeman as the club’s new boss, the players were tasked with the responsibility of learning a new playing pattern.

Koeman also came to a Barcelona side and inherited a less-performing team from former manager Quique Setien, but he has now turned things around after a few months at the helm. Barcelona’s current style of play and approach to the game that Koeman has introduced has been largely helpful for them since its implementation and they have also become a much better side than they were.

How Close Or Faraway Is A Better Future For Barcelona?

The Spanish La Liga giants are no doubt currently in one of the worst phases of their history, but will they be able to bounce back anytime soon? From financial crises to the uncertainty surrounding the future of some star players at the club, including that of the club’s captain Lionel Messi, there are a handful of reasons to be concerned and worried as a Barcelona fan right now. There are a lot of unanswered questions lurking around these problems, with a majority of them still waiting to be answered.

One of the major areas of the club that needed to be addressed has finally been wrapped up with the appointment of Juan Laporta as the new president. Following the presidential elections, Laporta came out on top among his other rivals who equally gave a good pitch of how they were going to turn things around at the club.

Arsene Wenger Insists Barcelona Have A Big Problem After PSG Loss

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has questioned Barcelona players’ attitude in the wake of yet another embarrassing European defeat. The Blaugrana were dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of qualification after suffering a disappointing 4-1 loss at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain at home in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg fixture.


Wenger says the club are currently suffering from the huge mistakes they made in the transfer market and will need to buy a couple of more players to restart a rebuild. Wenger was in the studio and watched on as Barcelona were shredded into pieces at the Camp Nou on Tuesday night, with French forward Kylian Mbappé scoring a hat-trick, and his teammate Moise Kean scoring a header to take the tie out of the home team’s reach. SUPER CUP: BARCELONA TO FACE BILBAO

Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday after the Basque club stunned defending champions Real Madrid in the second semi-final on Thursday night. Real Madrid were the overwhelming favourites to face Barcelona in the final with several football fans expecting an El Clasico final but that was not to be thanks to Athletic Bilbao.


The Basque club held off Real Madrid in the second half of their Spanish Super Cup semi-final clash to seal a final place with Barcelona courtesy a 2-1 win over the holders. Real Madrid won the inaugural edition (2019 edition) of the four-team Spanish Super Cup format by beating Atletico Madrid on penalties in the final.

WILLIAN TALKS UP BARCELONA INTEREST AND WHY HE CHOSE ARSENAL

 

Last summer when Willian was still a Chelsea player, he was involved in an elongated contract negotiation with the club. He insisted he wanted a three-year deal, but the Blues offered a maximum of a deal that would run for two years.


Both parties were not able to reach an agreement, and that influenced the player’s decision of leaving the club he had spent several years playing for.

BARCELONA MAY NOT LAND LAUTARO THIS SUMMER

 

There has been heavy reporting on the possible move of Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan to Barcelona this summer. However, according to new information, the move might not happen this summer again due to financial implications post-Covid.

The release clause of 111 million Euros is deemed to much for Barcelona to pay this summer. Inter will not bulge in their valuation of the forward, knowing the La Liga side want another option upfront. Barcelona have reportedly agreed not to move forward with the deal if the price remains 111 million Euros.

SUAREZ WANTS BARCA TO SIGN TWO STARS

Uruguay and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has backed the club to make a move for Neymar and Lautaro Martinez. Neymar who joined PSG from Barca in 2017 has been continuously linked with a sensational return to the Camp Nou. The club is also interested in Inter Milan attacker Martinez, and according to a report, Barca will make a move for the player at the end of the season.


Neymar has publicly admitted he wanted a return to the Catalan giant. Barca were also close to making the deal happen last summer, but they could not agree final details with PSG. Martinez on the other hand has been very impressive for Inter this season.

MAN UTD OFFERS £30 MILLION FOR WONDER KID

Manchester United have offered more than £30m for Birmingham City prodigy Jude Bellingham as they look to secure the services of one of the highest rated youngsters in the country.


Despite only turning 16 in June, Bellingham has been part of Birminghams first-team this season and became the clubs youngest ever player when he started a Carabao Cup tie back in August, before he even received his GCSE results.

MESSI WANTS MBAPPE TOO

Barcelona star Lionel Messi wants the club to sign French sensation KylianMbappe as part of the deal for him to extend with the club, as per reports in Spain. As his contract with the Spanish giants runs down, the Argentine is set to begin talks with the club.

The new deal, with negotiations to be led by his father Jorge, would see Messi get an extension that would mean ending his illustrious career at the club. Since 2010, Messi has scored at least 50 goals every year for club and country – making him one of the most consistent players in football history.

BARCA AND CITY WON’T CEASE RAIDING MIDFIELD TALENTS

The whole point of having a working formula is to make sure it is preserved all the time. Many teams struggle for years to get one and even those that get theirs attribute it to luck.


Barcelona has been dominating football for over a decade and asides having a football academy that continues to teach youngsters on how to cook the dish of tiki taka, it has constantly over the years, made sure any youngster outside their domestic domain of learning, who has that quality, is swiftly scooped up by their scouts.
